Collegiate church in Środa Wielkopolska

The Collegiate Church in Środa Wielkopolska is a Gothic brick structure in Greater Poland featuring a distinctive four-sided tower rising approximately 36 meters (118 ft). The building extends about 45 meters (148 ft) in length and measures roughly 23 meters (75 ft) across, with a layout typical of regional medieval religious architecture.

The first documented mention of the church dates to 1276, and it survived the Teutonic Knights' invasion in 1331. A late Gothic reconstruction subsequently transformed the building into a basilica with updated interior and exterior features.

This church served as a gathering place for local nobility to conduct important regional business and hold political meetings over centuries. The building thus played a central role in the civic and administrative life of the area beyond its purely religious function.

The church is best explored on foot, with the exterior fully viewable from the surrounding area. Checking opening times in advance is advisable, as access may vary depending on religious services or local events.
