Góra Cygańska is a mountain located near Andrychów with moderate elevation and sloping terrain on both sides. The western face descends toward the Wielka Puszcza stream while the eastern side gradually transitions to the Targaniczanka valley.
Before World War II, Jewish residents from Andrychów built a wooden holiday house on the slopes, creating a retreat in the mountains. After the war, the site was transformed into a tourist station operated by the Polish Tatra Society.
The mountain's name reflects historical narratives about communities that once inhabited the region and remains part of local folklore today. Visitors gather here during seasonal celebrations, making it a place where tradition and nature connect.
The site offers various facilities for visitors including accommodation, dining options, and recreational areas. You can enjoy tennis courts, a swimming pool, and a rope park, making it easy to spend a full day exploring outdoor activities.
In September 2005, a military transport aircraft made an emergency landing on the slopes, with all twelve crew members surviving the unexpected incident safely. This rare occurrence remains one of the most remarkable moments in the location's recent past.
