Kino Ognisko, Movie theater and theater building in Legnica, Poland.
The structure features a classic late 19th-century design with large windows and decorative stone elements on the main facade at Klosterstrasse 2.
The building opened its doors in 1897 as a concert hall and theater, later transforming into one of the first cinemas in Lower Silesia after 1918.
The venue hosted the first film screening in Lower Silesia after World War II on May 5, 1945, commemorated by a plaque on the building.
The cinema operated with 1100 seats until the opening of modern multiplex theaters in Galeria Piastów led to its closure in 2009.
Originally named Central Theater, the venue changed its name to Polonia and later to Ognisko, influenced by a neighboring restaurant with the same name.
