Kino Ognisko

Kino Ognisko is a movie theater and theater building in Legnica featuring classic late 19th-century design with distinctive architectural details. Large windows and decorative stone elements adorn the main facade at Klosterstrasse 2, making it a notable structure in the city's streetscape.

This building opened in 1897 as a concert hall and theater, transforming into one of the region's earliest cinemas after 1918. It played a significant role in reviving cultural life following World War II when entertainment venues reopened across the area.

This venue served as a gathering place for local residents and shaped the cultural life of central Legnica for generations. People came here not just to watch films but to be part of a community that regularly used the space for entertainment and social connection.

The venue is located in the city center and easily accessible on foot from the main streets and squares. Visitors should know that the cinema closed in 2009 and no longer operates as a theater, so it can only be viewed from the outside today.
