Palace in Karnity

The Palace in Karnity is a large brick building featuring an octagonal corner tower and a rectangular tower facing the lake at its front. The complex now serves as a hotel facility, with the former riding school converted into additional accommodation spaces.

The current palace was built in 1856 and replaced an earlier mansion destroyed around 1635 during the Polish-Swedish wars. The new construction adopted a neo-gothic style and marked the rebuilding of the estate after a long period of loss.

The interior rooms display elaborate wooden details such as decorated beam ceilings and fireplaces that show 19th-century craftsmanship. Visitors can see how wealthy residents lived through these preserved elements throughout the building.

The grounds are accessible today as a hotel facility, so it is best to visit during a stay or arrange a day visit in advance. The lakeside location offers pleasant walks around the property to explore.

The terrace displays ornate balustrades made of artificial stone with quatrefoil and fish bladder patterns characteristic of gothic design. These decorative elements were not functionally necessary but show the owners' desire to display handcrafted excellence and artistic taste.
