Żabi Koń

Żabi Koń is a limestone rock formation rising from the Jura Krakowsko-Czestochowska upland with white stone faces and vertical surfaces ideal for climbing. The structure displays the characteristic geological features of the region with steep walls and irregular surfaces throughout.

This geological structure formed through millions of years of limestone deposits and erosion, becoming part of the extensive rock system in Lesser Poland. The natural processes that shaped these formations continue to influence the landscape character of the Jura region today.

This climbing destination is part of a network of training areas where local and visiting climbers practice their skills on the rock face. The white limestone structure represents an important gathering place for the climbing community in the Jura region.

The formation is reachable via marked trails from parking areas in Kobylanska Valley, and sturdy hiking shoes are recommended for the terrain. The area provides adequate parking and straightforward access that is most comfortable during spring and autumn months.

The limestone structure contains small caves and surface irregularities that serve as nesting spaces for various bird species native to the Jura region. These natural crevices are often filled with bird calls and demonstrate the diversity of the local ecosystem.
