The hospital building is a brick structure that blends historicist design with modernist features and originally housed multiple medical departments. The complex stands within a garden planted with diverse trees and is enclosed by a preserved fence with a gatehouse in its southeastern corner.

The building was constructed between 1906 and 1908 by architects Emil and Georg Zillmann for the Georg von Giesches Erben company and provided medical care for industrial and mining workers. Following nationalization after World War II, it continued operating as Municipal Hospital No. 7.
