Figura Boga Ojca w Falentach, Religious sandstone statue in Falenty, Poland.
Figura Boga Ojca w Falentach is a sandstone sculpture depicting God the Father holding a globe while standing on a pedestal. It is located near the Stawy Raszyńskie Nature Reserve, where it now stands surrounded by ponds and green spaces.
The sculpture was created between 1682 and 1692 in Stephan Schwaner's workshop and originally decorated the facade of a Bridgettine Church in Warsaw. It was later relocated to its current location in Falenty.
The figure's face draws inspiration from ancient Zeus imagery, and it now stands within the natural landscape of Falenty. Visitors can observe how the religious work integrates into the modern environment along the educational trail.
The sculpture is best viewed while walking the Falencka educational trail that winds through the nature reserve. The path is relatively easy to navigate and passes several other historical points of interest.
Iron hooks remain visible on the back of the sculpture, revealing how it was once mounted high on a church wall. These details tell the story of its journey from the religious building to the natural reserve today.
