Palace and park ensemble in Falenty

The Palace and park ensemble in Falenty is a residential complex featuring neoclassical design elements and expansive gardens in the Masovian region. Today the building houses an institute focused on technology and life sciences research.

Architect Franciszek Maria Lanci designed this complex in the first half of the 19th century as a country residence. The site received protected monument status in 1962, ensuring preservation of its architectural heritage.

The ensemble demonstrates how 19th-century landowners integrated their residences with the surrounding landscape through carefully planned gardens. The design choices reflect the period's approach to blending domestic life with nature.

The site is located outside Warsaw with reasonable access via public transportation. Since the building now serves as an active research facility, visiting may require advance arrangements or may be limited to exterior viewing.

The complex uniquely combines preservation of a historical residence with active scientific research under one roof. This dual use demonstrates how heritage buildings can adapt to contemporary purposes while maintaining their original character.
