The New Synagogue features modernist architecture with a four-sided roof, a main prayer hall, and dedicated galleries for female worshippers.
Built in 1926 during the Free City of Danzig period, the synagogue provided a spiritual center for Jewish refugees from Russia and Poland.
The synagogue maintains a prayer room where Shabbat services take place and contains a Torah scroll donated by the Luxembourg Jewish community.
Located at 7 Partyzantów Street, the synagogue remains the sole freestanding Jewish religious building in Gdańsk that survived through time.
Between 1946 and 1951, the building served as the central synagogue for the Mosaic Congregation before becoming a music school named after Chopin.
