Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Na Pólku

The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Na Pólku is a wooden building sitting on a low hill south of Bralin, with weathered siding and overlapping roof sections. The interior features painted walls and multiple doorways that hint at an intricate architectural layout.

The current structure was completed in 1711 and underwent multiple repairs over the centuries, including restoration of the interior wall paintings in 1936. Major preservation work in the 2010s focused on stabilizing and maintaining the wooden framework.

The church's name refers to the birth of Mary and serves as a gathering place for the local faithful on Sundays. The wooden construction and the craftsmanship visible inside reflect the building skills of artisans from centuries past.

The building sits south of Bralin and is reachable on foot, with its wooden structure visible from the exterior. Visitors should plan to arrive on Sunday afternoons when the church is in use and open for exploration.

The building features an unusual Greek cross floor plan with tapering arms and entrances positioned on all four sides. The distinctive octagonal tower is topped by a bulbous dome that stands out when viewed from a distance.
