Park Brzeźnieński spreads along the Baltic coast in Gdańsk and features walking paths winding through extensive woodlands. The space connects directly to a pier that extends toward the beach.
The park originated in 1831 as a protective grove for a military supply route and transformed into a public green space between 1840 and 1842. This transition marked its shift from a strategic function to a place for public enjoyment.
The park received its current name in 2002 to honor Jan Jerzy Haffner, a physician who lived during the Napoleonic Wars and shaped the area's growth. This naming reflects the local connection to medical and scientific figures from that era.
The site offers numerous benches and wide trails that are easy to walk and allow for relaxed exploration. Visitors find resting areas throughout and can reach the beach via the adjacent pier.
The site contains remnants of Prussian military fortifications from 1896 that are still visible in the landscape today. These structures reflect the area's strategic importance during a later military period.
