Dokmir Monastery

Dokmir Monastery is a Serbian Orthodox sanctuary in Ub Municipality distinguished by a central circular dome rising above a single-nave structure. The building features careful stonework and houses religious artworks throughout its interior.

The monastery dates to 1455 and underwent major repairs following an earthquake in 1734. This reconstruction proved essential for the building's survival through the following centuries.

The interior walls display frescoes and icons from the late 18th century that reflect the artistic expression of Orthodox tradition. These works continue to shape the spiritual character of the place today.

From 1788 onward, the grounds served as an elementary school for the local population. The school did not last long, however, as the buildings were later attacked and damaged during regional conflicts.
