Crkva Sv. proroka Ilije

Crkva Sv. proroka Ilije is a Serbian Orthodox church in Ilinci featuring traditional architecture with a bell tower, three apses, and rectangular side chapels. These spaces branch outward from the narthex, creating a structured layout typical of regional Orthodox design.

The church was approved and constructed in 1834 using materials salvaged from the former Monastery Slanci. This reuse of monastery materials marked the transition to establishing this new parish church in the community.

The interior walls feature religious compositions painted by Velimir Maretic in 1948 that depict biblical scenes. The iconostasis displays fourteen detailed paintings from the 19th century that reflect the spiritual traditions of the local community.

Regular religious services are held at the church, and visitors can access it during standard opening hours. The feast day of Saint Prophet Elijah occurs on August 2nd according to the Gregorian calendar, making it a good time to witness community gatherings and celebrations.

Two Annunciation icons housed in the church predate the iconostasis, which was designed by priest Jovan Dimic between 1918 and 1919. These older icons represent an earlier layer of the church's spiritual heritage now preserved within the later architectural framework.
