Church of Saint Nicholas in Kotelniki

Church of Saint Nicholas is an Eastern Orthodox place of worship in Tagansky District featuring Empire-style architecture of stone construction. The building shows a rotunda design with semicircular windows and a main rectangular section that creates its distinctive outline.

A wooden church originally stood on this site beginning in 1547. The current stone structure rose between 1822 and 1824 under architect Joseph Bove's direction.

The church represents the Orthodox Church of Czech Lands and Slovakia in Moscow. This role makes it a bridge between Eastern Orthodox faith and Central European religious communities.
