Tutolmin House

The Tutolmin House is a late 18th-century building in Moscow's Tagansky District featuring carefully carved stonework and balanced proportions across its facade. The structure retains its original external appearance while serving as a modern research institution today.

The building was constructed in 1788 as a residence for the noble Tutolmin family. It later transitioned into its current role as an academic research facility while maintaining its original exterior form.

The building displays the neoclassical style that Moscow's wealthy families favored during Catherine the Great's era. Walking past it, you can see how the nobility expressed their status and taste through architecture.

The building sits in central Moscow and is easily accessible by public transportation. You can view the exterior freely, but check in advance if you want to see the interior as it is an active research facility.
