Чертолино, Historical estate in Chertolino, Russia
The Chertolino estate spans dozens of kilometers and encompasses 30 neighboring villages in the western part of Rzhev district in Tver Oblast.
The estate belonged to the Ignatiev family of counts and ministers from the 1750s until the 1950s, when the main manor house was demolished.
Two stone and brick churches built in the late 19th century by architect V.I. Kuzmin stand on the estate grounds at Chertolino and Laptevo-Pokrovskaya.
Four rivers flow through the estate territory: Dunka, Sishka, Kholmyanka, and Lyapinenka, forming water bodies that feed into the Volga River system.
In 1859, the estate counted 250 households with 57 residents, ranking among the wealthiest properties in the Tver region.
