Tower of Concord, Medieval tower reconstruction in Magas, Russia.
The Tower of Concord is a medieval tower reconstruction in the center of Magas, distinguished by a spiral ramp that extends for over one kilometer to the observation level. The structure rises approximately 100 meters high, with the viewing platform situated around 85 meters above ground.
Construction of this tower, completed in 2013, was funded by businessman Alikhan Kharsiev to replicate traditional Ingush tower architecture at four times the original scale. This ambitious scale represented a new approach to preserving regional architectural heritage.
This tower represents unity among Ingush clans, moving away from the tradition of family-owned towers to become a shared monument for all republic residents. The building functions as a gathering point that emphasizes collective identity rather than individual clan heritage.
Visitors must walk up the spiral ramp to reach the observation deck, as the building contains no elevators for vertical access. The long walking distance requires reasonable fitness, so comfortable footwear is recommended.
The observation platform features a glass floor that offers an unforgettable panoramic view of Magas city, making the visit particularly immersive. Inside, paintings by local artists depict scenes from Ingush mythology.
