Kardovsky estate in Pereslavl

The Kardovsky estate is a timber manor house in Pereslavl-Zalessky built with solid wooden construction and traditional architectural style. The main building sits surrounded by former gardens and orchard grounds that once served the household.

The house was built in 1885 and later purchased by Dmitry Kardovsky, a respected Fellow of the Fine Arts Academy. His daughter transferred the property to the state in 1954 to establish it as an artistic center.

The property functions as a gathering place for painters and sculptors who visit and work together in its spaces. The rooms themselves reflect this artistic purpose through the creative projects that have taken shape there over the decades.

The grounds are located on Moskovskaya Street and are accessible on foot, with the wooden structure well preserved from the outside. Visitors should allow time to explore the rooms and land, as the estate includes several buildings.

The property includes a separate inn building that was specifically constructed to house visiting artists and creative guests during their stays. This outbuilding was an important part of the original design to welcome and support creative professionals.
