Holy Trinity Church in Yaransk

Holy Trinity Church is an Orthodox church building in Yaransk featuring Russian-Byzantine design with an octagonal drum supporting the main dome and a tall bell tower. The structure displays characteristic architectural elements of this style throughout its composition.

The church was built between 1845 and 1857 following the design of architect Konstantin Ton, replacing an earlier structure from 1689 that had fallen into disrepair. The bell tower was added later, constructed from 1878 to 1889 as a separate addition to the complex.

The church serves as an active place of worship where Eastern Orthodox services take place regularly. It draws pilgrims and visitors who come to venerate the relics of Saint Matthew of Yaransk, a local holy figure.

The bell tower houses a remarkable bell that was donated by Fyodor Roshchin, an honorary citizen of Yaransk. This gift reflects the close connection between the church and the local community.
