Яранский Вознесенский монастырь

The Ascension Monastery is an Orthodox monastic complex in the center of Yaransk featuring the Annunciation Church and the Michael the Archangel Church connected by a bell tower. The bell tower rises between the two churches and serves as the central structural element of the complex.

The monastery was founded in 1652 and quickly became an important institution controlling large estates and villages in the region. Its establishment marked the beginning of a significant religious presence that shaped the city.
