Склеп Александра Бекмана

Bekmans burial vault is a neoclassical structure with an open pavilion design supported by stone columns and topped by a domed roof that shelters the chamber beneath. The arrangement of columns and roof creates a distinctive architectural form found at a cemetery in Saint Petersburg.

The vault was built in 1883 for General Alexander von Beckmann and represents a significant example of late 19th-century burial architecture. Its construction occurred during a period when such individual tomb monuments were common throughout Saint Petersburg.

The vault became known to wider audiences through a 1997 film where it appeared as 'German's Gazebo'. This cultural reference introduced the structure to people who might otherwise have overlooked it.

The structure sits within a cemetery of Lutheran heritage and can be accessed via pathways through the burial grounds. It is currently undergoing restoration efforts, so visitor conditions may vary depending on the project phase.
