Bunker 703, Deep bunker and museum in Moscow, Russia.
Bunker 703 is an underground facility in central Moscow positioned 65 meters below street level and connected to other areas through four separate tunnels. The space covers around 7,000 square meters and features walls reinforced with cast iron for structural protection.
The facility was constructed during the Cold War to serve as a classified storage site for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After being declassified in 2018, the site opened to visitors.
The facility contains preserved Cold War artifacts and original documentation storage areas, reflecting Soviet military engineering and defense strategies.
Access requires walking down roughly 50 meters of stairs without any lift available. People with mobility challenges or discomfort in enclosed spaces should consider this before planning a visit.
The facility still houses its original equipment from the Cold War era, including operational sirens designed to alert occupants of nuclear attacks. Radiation detection instruments also remain in place in their original condition.
