The House of the Moscow Pawn Company is a five-story Art Nouveau building on Bolshaya Dmitrovka Street. The facade features three triangular bay windows, arched niches with balconies, and a colonnade on the top floor.
The building was constructed in 1904 by architect Alexander Ivanov. It functioned as a pawnshop and continued operating even after the Russian Revolution of 1917.
The building displays how financial institutions in early 20th century Moscow expressed their power through architecture and design. The ornate facades and detailed elements conveyed trust and stability to clients.
