Built in 1914 by architect Fyodor Schechtel, this mausoleum was commissioned for Anton Erlanger, a prominent flour mill industrialist of German descent. The structure reflects early 20th century architecture patronage by Moscow's wealthy elite.
The interior displays a mosaic titled 'Christ the Sower' created by artist Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin and executed in Vladimir Frolov's workshop, making the space spiritually and artistically significant.
This mausoleum sits within Vvedenskoye Cemetery and is accessible to visitors interested in exploring the memorial space and its architecture. Keep in mind that active religious services occur regularly, so respectful conduct is expected.
Tamara Kronkoyans dedicated 12 years to restoring this monument, selling her apartment to fund the reconstruction of the collapsed chapel in the 1990s. Her devotion rescued a work of significant artistic and architectural quality.
