Guild house in Vyborg

The Guild House features two levels constructed from untreated boulders with prominent granite walls positioned at the intersection of Novaya Zastava and Vyborgskaya streets.

Constructed in the fourteenth century as a merchant residence, the building became affiliated with the local trade guild during the sixteenth century expansion of commerce.

The structure demonstrates the economic importance of medieval merchant guilds through its division into an upper-floor trading office and a lower-floor storage space.

Located at Vyborgskaya Street 10, the building currently houses a souvenir shop where visitors can purchase local memorabilia and traditional items.

Due to gradual ground settlement over centuries, the original first floor of the building transformed into a cellar level, altering its initial architectural layout.
