We demand peace!, Peace monument in Fallen Monument Park, Moscow, Russia

We demand peace! is a bronze composition of six figures portraying people of different backgrounds and a woman with a dove, located in Muzeon Park. The sculpture stands at a monumental height and underwent thorough restoration after damage, with missing details carefully recreated.

Created in 1950 by sculptor Vera Mukhina and her team in response to global conflict, the work received the Stalin Prize in 1951. It became a symbol of hopes for international peace during that era.

The sculptures show what cooperation between different nations could look like, with figures standing side by side as if united against conflict. Visitors today notice how the bronze bodies are positioned close together, suggesting trust and shared purpose.

The monument stands prominently in the park and is easy to locate. Visit during daylight hours and good weather to fully appreciate the bronze details and the expressions on the figures' faces.

An identical twin version of this sculpture stands thousands of kilometers away in Pyongyang, North Korea. This lesser-known counterpart demonstrates how significant this peace symbol was to multiple nations.
