The forest area recovered from a major fire roughly 100 to 150 years ago, visible in burn marks on tree stumps and trunks. This recovery phase shows how the forest naturally regrows after such disturbance.
The forest shows how nature heals and renews itself after disturbance. Visitors can observe how different tree species and plants naturally live together in a protected space.
A marked trail winds through the reserve for about 2.2 kilometers, offering a good way to explore different forest areas. Parking and information boards are available at the entrance to help orient visitors.
The reserve hosts rare lichen species growing on the spruce trees, which are uncommon in the region. Additionally, spruce bark beetles and bronze-colored beetles play an important role in the forest's natural ecological processes.
