Paráč, Mountain summit in Dolný Kubín District, Slovakia.
Paráč is a mountain summit in the Western Carpathians that rises to 1324 meters. The peak is crisscrossed by a network of marked trails that lead hikers through the surrounding alpine terrain.
The mountain has supported logging and farming activities in the region since early settlement periods. The paths crossing Paráč became established routes that connected communities on either side of the ridge.
The mountain trails of Paráč connect numerous locations where traditional Slovak mountaineering events and seasonal celebrations take place throughout the year.
Hikers can access marked trails from either the Dolný Kubín or Námestovo district side, with clear trail markings throughout. Parking is available at the trailheads on both approaches, making it straightforward to start an outing.
The location of Paráč between two districts creates noticeably different weather patterns and landscape types on each side of the summit. These differences affect which plants grow and what conditions hikers will experience depending on their approach.
