Brázda, Cave entrance and national nature monument in Rožňava District, Slovakia
Brázda is a cave entrance located in the Slovak Karst region, formed by erosion through limestone and dolomite rock. The cave system contains multiple passages and natural formations that reflect the geology of this karst landscape.
A tunnel was constructed at the entrance in 1982 by miners, making the site more accessible for exploration. This project marked the beginning of organized scientific investigation of the cave system.
Speleologists and geologists regularly visit Brázda to conduct research on cave formations and mineral deposits, contributing to scientific understanding.
The cave can only be visited through guided tours organized from the village of Krasnohorska Dlha Luka. Visitors should wear sturdy footwear and be prepared for uneven terrain and tight passages.
The cave contains narrow passages and natural limestone stairways that require climbing skills to navigate. These challenging routes are what attract experienced cavers to explore deeper into the system.
