Chakraphong Mosque

Chakraphong Mosque is a three-story yellow concrete structure located near the Grand Palace and Sanam Luang field. The building includes separate areas for male and female visitors along with prayer halls featuring various architectural details.

The mosque was established during the reign of King Rama I, following the arrival of Muslims from Pattani who came to Bangkok as war captives. Its construction took place in the early Rattanakosin period under their leadership.

The building displays Persian and Arab design elements with colored glass windows and geometric wood panels in the prayer halls. These features create a distinct religious space within the city center.

The mosque observes five daily prayer times and maintains regular opening hours with separate entrances for visitors. The site can be reached on foot and is located in an active area with other historical sites nearby.

The community that built this place became skilled craftspeople who created decorative objects and royal regalia for court ceremonies. Their abilities contributed to the artistic development of the kingdom.
