Малий Єрусалим, Tourism organization and hiking trail in Yevpatoriia, Ukraine
Maliy Yerusalim is a district in Yevpatoriia on the Black Sea coast combining religious structures and historical monuments. Walking paths connect the various buildings throughout this historic area.
The district developed in the early 20th century when multiple religious communities built their prayer houses and cultural centers close together. This building period made the area a center of religious diversity in the city.
The area displays religious buildings from multiple faiths side by side: Orthodox churches, mosques, synagogues, and Karaite prayer houses. Visitors can see how different communities coexisted in this seaside town for generations.
The route covers about one kilometer and takes visitors past various religious sites. Guided tours are available in multiple languages during the season, and the area can be easily explored on foot.
The district takes its name from the concentration of different religious buildings within a small area, a feature that echoes Jerusalem. This dense grouping of different faiths is unusual for the Black Sea region.
