Flaghouse Homes, Public housing complex in Baltimore, Maryland, US.

Flaghouse Homes was a public housing complex composed of three twelve-story towers and several low-rise buildings spread across multiple city blocks in Southeast Baltimore. The development contained thousands of residential units designed to house families of varying sizes across its interconnected structures.

The complex opened in 1955 as a segregated housing project serving thousands of residents for nearly five decades. It closed in 1999 and was demolished two years later, marking the end of a major chapter in Baltimore's public housing history.

Community spaces within the complex served as gathering places where residents organized social events, games, and sports activities together. These shared areas helped maintain neighborhood bonds and everyday social life for thousands of families.

The site was sprawling and took time to navigate, so visitors should wear sturdy shoes and allow extra time for exploration. Note that today only historical traces and vacant land remain at the location, as demolition occurred over two decades ago.

The location was featured in the television series Homicide: Life on the Street, though producers mistakenly referenced it under a different housing project's name in one storyline. This mix-up in the show's narrative has made the place notable for fans of the series tracing the actual filming locations.
