Lansing City Market, Public market in downtown Lansing, Michigan, US
Lansing City Market was a public marketplace in downtown Lansing situated along the Grand River and near the Cooley Law School Stadium. The single-story building provided vendor spaces ranging from small to large, allowing local sellers to display and sell their merchandise.
The concept of a city market in Lansing dates back to 1909, when the original market opened at a different location in the northern part of the city. The current building was constructed and opened in 2010 at a new location closer to the river.
The market served as a gathering place where local producers and artisans sold their handmade goods directly to visitors. This direct connection between makers and buyers defined the character of the space.
The market was located at 325 City Market Drive in downtown Lansing and was accessible from the nearby pedestrian trail network. The facility remained open to visitors until October 2019, after which it ceased regular operations.
The market was selected by Food Network in 2014 as a filming location for the television series Food Court Wars. This television appearance briefly brought wider attention to the venue and its role in the local food scene.
