The Norris University Center extends across 160,000 square feet with five levels, including two underground floors at Northwestern University campus.
The center opened in 1971 through a $2.5 million contribution from the parents of Northwestern University alumnus Lester J. Norris after his death.
The Dittmar Memorial Gallery inside the center presents regular art exhibitions, including displays of Native American powwow regalia and student works.
Students access essential services at the center, including the Wildcard Office, Cashier's Office, and meeting spaces for fraternity and sorority organizations.
The building, designed by Edward D. Dart, represents brutalist architecture with geometric forms constructed of concrete and glass materials.
