Oaklands Historic House Museum

The Oaklands Historic House Museum features Italianate architecture with detailed woodwork, multiple fireplaces, and extensive period furniture throughout its expansive rooms.

Between 1818 and 1858, the Maney family constructed this residence, which later served as a refuge for both Confederate and Union officers during the Civil War.

The museum maintains collections of 19th-century clothing, furniture, and household items that represent the lifestyle of wealthy Southern families before the Civil War.

The museum opens Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM, with guided tours starting every hour and special rates for groups of 10 or more people.

The First Battle of Murfreesboro unfolded on the mansion's front lawn in 1862, where Confederate forces captured Federal troops as the Maney children watched from upstairs.
