Palisades Township was a former municipality in Bergen County that stretched from the Hudson River to the Hackensack River, forming a northern strip of the county's eastern section. The original territory was later divided into separate towns, including portions of New Milford and Demarest.
The area was formed in 1871 when Hackensack Township divided into three separate parts, establishing Palisades Township as a distinct entity. The township persisted for roughly 50 years before dissolving in 1922, with its lands incorporated into newer municipalities.
