Palace Playland

Palace Playland is an amusement park along the coast at Old Orchard Beach with more than 25 rides for different ages. The offerings range from roller coasters and carousels to classic carnival games and smaller attractions for young children.

The park began in 1902 as a simple ice rink with a carousel and has grown into one of Maine's largest amusement parks over time. Steady expansion with new rides and attractions has kept it a working destination across more than a century.

On Thursday evenings during summer, families gather to watch fireworks that light up the coastal sky and create a shared seasonal tradition by the beach.

The park operates during warmer months and charges no admission to enter the grounds, though individual rides require payment. Visitors should bring comfortable shoes and sun protection, and plan to visit during dry weather for the best experience.

The Sea Viper roller coaster offers ocean views during the ride and was built in 2018 to bring modern thrills to the classic park. This blend of views and speed creates a distinctive experience right along the shoreline.
