Randall House, Historical octagon house in Mayville, Michigan, US.

The Randall House features a two-story balloon frame construction topped with a cupola and measures forty feet long by twenty-eight feet wide.

William Randall, a Canadian-born carpenter who moved to Michigan in 1865, completed the construction of this residence with local assistance in 1872.

The building represents a distinctive architectural movement from the mid-1800s when octagonal houses gained popularity through Orson Squire Fowler's influence in American design.

The interior space includes a main floor with a kitchen, pantry, converted bathroom, two parlors, and a central circular staircase leading to upper bedrooms.

The structure incorporates seven flat-roofed octagonal sides plus one rectangular wing, with Gothic-style windows adorning the observation cupola at the top.
