Roger Williams Park, Historic district and public park in Providence, United States
Roger Williams Park spans 427 acres with seven lakes, Victorian gardens, walking paths, and numerous recreational facilities in Providence, Rhode Island.
The land was donated to Providence in 1871 through Betsey Williams' will, a sixth-generation descendant of Rhode Island founder Roger Williams.
The park maintains the 1773 Betsey Williams Cottage and family burial ground, preserving the connection to Rhode Island's early settlement period.
Visitors can explore the botanical center, Japanese gardens, natural history museum, planetarium, zoo, and carousel throughout the four seasons.
The Works Project Administration constructed many of the park's roads, bridges, and pedestrian paths between 1935 and 1940.
