Solomon Goffe House, Colonial house museum in Meriden, United States.

The Solomon Goffe House is a wood-frame structure from 1711 featuring a gambrel roof, central chimney, and clapboard siding. Eight bays and four shed-roof dormers mark the front elevation of this early colonial home.

This house was built in 1711, making it the oldest surviving structure in Meriden. It earned National Register of Historic Places designation in 1979.

The three ground floor rooms show how people organized their homes during the 1700s, offering a window into daily domestic life. Walking through them reveals the practical layout and personal spaces of an early Connecticut family.

Visitors can explore the house during designated open days when the building is available for tours. It helps to confirm current visiting times before planning your visit.

Archaeological digs at the site uncovered significant artifacts, including a well-preserved axe blade from the colonial period. These findings reveal details about the daily tools and objects people used centuries ago.
