The Solomon Goffe House features a gambrel roof, central chimney, and clapboard exterior with eight bays and four shed-roof dormers on the front.
Built in 1711, this wood-frame structure stands as the oldest existing building in Meriden and received National Register of Historic Places status in 1979.
Three ground floor rooms maintain their original configuration, providing valuable insights into domestic life and architectural design of early 18th century Connecticut.
The museum welcomes visitors every first Sunday from April through November between 1:30 PM and 4:30 PM, with monthly rotating thematic exhibitions.
Archaeological excavations at the site by the Archaeology Society of Connecticut have yielded significant artifacts, including a preserved axe blade.
