Town Pavilion, Office skyscraper in Downtown Kansas City, United States

Town Pavilion is a 180-meter-tall office tower with 38 floors located at the intersection of 12th and Main Streets, distinguished by a glass exterior with dark blue tones. The building contains 18 elevators serving major tenants including Transamerica, Bank Midwest, and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners across its many levels.

The building opened in 1986 as AT&T Town Pavilion, incorporating the former Harzfeld's Department Store and the Boley Building into its modern structure. This merger of older commercial buildings with new architecture marked a turning point in Kansas City's urban renewal.

The building reflects how Kansas City shifted from small retail businesses to corporate offices, showing the city's changing downtown focus. This mixed-use approach demonstrates how old commercial buildings were adapted for new purposes.

The building is located at 1111 Main Street and is easy to navigate with its multiple elevators providing access to different floors. Visitors should know this is an active office building, so public access to interior spaces is limited.

The Boley Building section showcases an early American application of French iron curtain wall construction methods and stands as a notable example in architectural history. This construction system was later adopted by other major projects across the country.
