Trimper's Rides, Historic amusement park on Ocean City boardwalk, Maryland, US.
Trimper's Rides is an amusement park at the southern end of Ocean City's boardwalk with rides and games in both indoor and outdoor sections. The grounds feature a variety of attractions ranging from roller coasters and balloon rides to smaller games and rides for different age groups.
This location began in 1893 when Daniel and Margaret Trimper opened the Windsor Resort with two hotels, which later evolved into an entertainment complex. Over the following decades, various rides and attractions were gradually added to the site, with some dating back to the 1960s still preserved today.
The hand-carved carousel from 1912 remains a centerpiece, showing how early amusement parks valued craftsmanship and artistry. Visitors walking through the park can see this tradition reflected in the park's focus on keeping older rides and attractions alive.
The park operates seasonally from spring through fall and has both covered and open-air sections to explore on foot. Visiting during weekday mornings tends to mean shorter waits, as popular rides can become crowded during peak season and weekends.
Inside the covered section is a Mirror Maze and a fun house called Pirate's Cove that preserve original design features from the 1960s. These older attractions feel different from modern rides and give visitors a sense of how amusement park entertainment worked in earlier decades.
