Washington County Courthouse, County courthouse in Marietta, United States.

The Washington County Courthouse features rusticated stone blocks at its foundation and smooth blocks extending upward to create a Neoclassical architectural design.

Built in 1902 by Samuel Hannaford & Sons architectural firm, this third courthouse for Washington County stands as a testament to early 20th-century American judicial architecture.

The courthouse maintains its position as the center of legal proceedings and civic engagement, serving the community through various government functions and public gatherings.

Located at 205 Putnam Street in downtown Marietta, the courthouse operates on weekdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and permits photography of its architectural details.

The second-floor hallways contain Indian motif mosaic floor tiles that incorporate ancient symbols, accompanied by explanatory signs about their cultural origins.
