Zook House

Zook House is a two-story stone building on the north side of U.S. Route 30 Business near the Exton Square Mall property. The structure provides a clear example of mid-18th-century building style and construction methods.

William Owen constructed the original structure in 1750, and later a German-speaking settler acquired the property. The building served as a home for multiple generations over two centuries and shaped local family history.

The house connects to early Welsh Quaker communities and reflects Pennsylvania's religious diversity during colonial times. These ties show how different faith groups lived alongside each other in the region.

The location is easy to reach since it sits on a main road and is relatively simple to find. Visitors should know that the building was moved in 1998, so it does not stand at its original site.

A German-speaking immigrant anglicized his name and established a family legacy that lasted two centuries. This name change reflects the adaptation processes that many settlers experienced.
