Third National Bank

Third National Bank is a 19th-century bank building with Queen Anne elements, a brick facade, and ornate cornices. The structure displays detailed craftsmanship that was typical of financial institutions from that era.

The building was designed by Archimedes Russell in 1885 and was built during the expansion of Syracuse's salt industry. It marks a period when wealthy business leaders represented their institutions through imposing architecture.

The building displays Classical Revival architectural features that were typical of late 19th-century American banks and reflected the city's prosperity. The building stands at 107 James Street in downtown Syracuse and is easy to locate. Visitors should note that this is a protected historic building that now serves a different purpose.
