Golden Rondelle Theater, Movie theater in Racine, United States.
The Golden Rondelle Theater is a movie theater in the SC Johnson administration complex in Racine, Wisconsin, housed in a distinctive spherical metal shell. Inside, three screens are positioned within this curved structure.
The theater debuted at the 1964 New York World's Fair before being dismantled and transported to Racine. Taliesin Associated Architects reconstructed and adapted it for its current location at the SC Johnson complex.
The theater regularly presents 'To Be Alive!', an Oscar-winning documentary that portrays children from around the world during their developmental years. This film brings a global perspective to the space and makes it a place where visitors encounter different cultures.
The theater is located on the SC Johnson campus grounds and visits require advance arrangement. Contact the facility ahead of time to confirm access and make necessary reservations.
The entire structure was disassembled from its original location and transported to Wisconsin as a complete relocation project to preserve its design. This moving made it one of the few buildings to undergo such an elaborate relocation effort.
