Long Island Children's Museum

The Long Island Children's Museum is a children's museum in Garden City with fourteen galleries filled with interactive exhibits. The facility has three workshop studios and a theater with approximately 150 seats for various performances.

The museum was founded in 1993 after educators and parents in the region wanted to create a place for children's learning. It started in a smaller building at the former Newsday location and later expanded to its current size.

The museum offers art classes and music instruction that help children discover their creative abilities. Visitors can observe children creating their own projects in the workshops and learning from one another.

The place is easily accessible with elevators and ramps and offers space for groups and families. Visitors should allow time to explore the different galleries and workshops since there is much to discover.

Right next to the museum stands a historic carousel called Nunley's Carousel, which operates separately. This spinning artwork from another era provides additional entertainment for visitors.
