Tri-State Speedway, Racing circuit in Haubstadt, Indiana, United States.
Tri-State Speedway is a dirt oval racing track in Haubstadt, Indiana, built as a quarter-mile banked loop of packed earth. The track layout is compact, which puts spectators close to the action along every section of the oval.
The track was built to serve the racing community in the tri-state border area and gradually grew into a stop on the national sprint car circuit. Over time it hosted several major racing series, which brought drivers from well beyond the local region.
The name Tri-State comes from the three states that meet nearby: Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky, and fans from all three regularly fill the stands. Race nights have a relaxed, community feel, with families and longtime regulars sitting close to the dirt oval.
Events are mostly held on weekday evenings, so arriving a little early helps with both parking and finding a good spot in the stands. The facility is small and fills up on popular nights, so going with someone familiar with the venue can make the experience easier.
Between 2006 and 2022, six drivers recorded their first national sprint car win here, which is a high number for a track of this size. That record gives first-time visitors a real chance of watching a driver win at this level for the first time.
