Menominee Park Zoo

Menominee Park Zoo is an eight-acre facility along Lake Winnebago that houses a variety of animal species in separate enclosures. The grounds include pathways connecting different exhibition areas where visitors can walk at their own pace to see the animals.

The zoo was founded in 1945 on Oshkosh's east side as a community resource for the region. This period marked a time when public zoos increasingly became places for people to learn about animals and conservation.

The zoo displays animals in settings designed to help visitors understand their natural habitats. The grounds invite people to explore wildlife while learning about conservation and the importance of protecting different species.

The grounds are easy to explore on foot with wide pathways accessible to most visitors. The best time to visit is during the warmer months when all areas are open and animals are more active.

The zoo maintains four permanent enclosures for wolves, elk, otters, and eagles that allow visitors to observe these animals in their most natural form. For other species, the facility uses a lease program that allows it to display different animals over the years.
