Storm King Wall

Storm King Wall is a stone wall that winds through the landscape of Storm King Art Center, constructed entirely from locally sourced fieldstone. The structure follows the natural terrain and creates a continuous line that guides visitors through different sections of the grounds.

Artist Andy Goldsworthy created this fieldstone wall as a permanent installation at Storm King Art Center in 1997. The work represented a new approach to integrating art directly within the natural landscape.

The wall represents a connection between architectural form and natural elements, demonstrating the evolution of environmental art in American outdoor sculpture parks.

The site is open during daytime hours, and visitors can walk along the wall at their own pace. The terrain can be uneven in places, so comfortable shoes and attention to footing are advisable.
